This silver pocket watch features the emblem of the US Army and can be engraved on back with a personal message. Pocket watch chain is included. It shows a piece of Roman body armor flanked by a cannon and three cannon balls on the left, and a mortar and two mortar bomb shells on the right. The sword, musket, and bayonet represent traditional army weapons, while the freed slave's cap is a symbol of liberty. The drum with the stars and stripes flag on left are from the Revolutionary era. Above the cap is a rattlesnake with a scroll in its mouth. The scroll is inscribed, "This we'll defend." The date "1775" is the year of the Army's establishment.
