Do I need to wear a Medical ID Bracelet?
Medical ID Bracelets alert paramedics and EMT’s to a specific medical or allergic condition when they’re about to start emergency treatment. Wearing a medical id bracelet or medical alert pendant is critical if your illnesses might render you unable to speak or unconscious. The goal is for fast and correct treatment, and to help ensure you won’t receive a medication you’re allergic to.

What should I engrave on my Medical Alert Bracelet?
4 key components:
- DIAGNOSIS/ CONDITION
- ALLERGIES (if any)
- EMERGENCY CONTACT
No PCN / P-nuts
What should you leave off?
Address (unless they have dementia) and social security number.
– NOTE: There’s no substitute for the advice of a medical professional. We want to get you started, but your doctor should be the final recommendation for what to engrave.
– Most of our medical ID bracelets can be engraved on front & back if you’d rather engrave diagnoses/allergies on the front and keep Personal Information out of sight.
– Keep it simple: watch upper/lower case, use abbreviations when possible, leave extraneous words out (i.e. “allergic to penicillin” –> No PCN or “Taking Coumadin” –> coumadin)
– Engrave “see other side” or “see wallet card” if you have more to say than can fit on the medical alert bracelet.
