About us

StickyJ Medical ID and sister company Thoughtful Impressions have been family owned and operated for more than 21 years. The company is led by CEO Lori Torman, who has an eye for great quality and classic styles. In the early days of medical id bracelets (we're talking 1960's), medical alert bracelets were pretty boring -- basically engraved metal tags with curb link chains. The same styles were offered for children, just smaller (no wonder kids didn't want to wear them). And, by the end of the 20th century things hadn't improved that much. Lori was among the first to recognize that medical id's could be fashion conscious, and in 2005 launched designs in leather as well as stainless, and introduced polyester kids medical id bracelets that had cute designs. The sport strap line of child medical id's she introduced nearly 20 years ago is still the most popular line of children's medical jewelry on the market today. And, we now produce more than 100 different styles of medical alert bracelets and necklaces for men and women. About StickyJ Medical ID DNR and IPOST Bracelets

StickyJ Medical ID Jewelry is a provider of Iowa Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) bracelets that comply with state regulations. The identifier bracelet is the key way health care providers and/or EMS personnel can quickly recognize that you have an Out-of-Hospital Do-Not-Resuscitate order. It's recommended that the patient's first and last name be engraved on the back of the bracelet in the top line available. A copy of your completed Iowa Out of Hospital DNR Order must be provided to StickyJ Medical ID prior to releasing your order. 

StickyJ Medical ID is also a provider of Iowa IPOST bracelets.  For IPOST, it is required that you have a copy of your IPOST order with you at all times.  When ordering please select either Purse or Wallet to indicate where EMS personnel can find a copy of your IPOST.

To order by mail, please download and print the IOWA DNR or IPOST BRACELET ORDER FORM and follow the instructions on the form.

QR Code Option for Quick DNR or IPOST Access

For a modest additional fee, StickyJ Medical ID offers an optional QR Code feature with your medical ID bracelet. If you select this option, when you send us a copy of your DNR or IPOST order, we will securely digitize and upload it to our protected online database. The QR Code, engraved on the back of your bracelet, allows paramedics and emergency responders to use a smartphone to scan and immediately view an image of your DNR or IPOST order.  While the bracelet itself communicates your wishes, having the actual DNR or IPOST order readily available to emergency medical personnel can provide an additional layer of assurance.  A scan of the QR code allows EMS personnel to quickly verify your medical directives, further safeguarding your preferences in emergency situations.

To add the QR Code option, you must either scan-and-upload OR mail a copy of your Do Not Resuscitate order to StickyJ Medical ID. Once received, we will securely store your document online, making it accessible to EMS personnel whenever necessary.  (Note: if you are planning to scan and upload your DNR, we recommend using Adobe Scan.  It's a free app available for both Apple and Android phones).

Features of the Iowa Bracelets

The Iowa Do Not Resuscitate and IPOST ID bracelets by StickyJ Medical ID offer peace of mind by ensuring EMS personnel are aware of the existence of your medical orders and know exactly where to locate them.  The front of the metal bracelet features the internationally recognized emergency medical symbol and information about the location of your portable medical order. The back of the bracelet provides space for several lines of engraving, where you can include your name and an emergency contact phone number.

When ordering your bracelet, please select the DNR bracelet (CR5247C) if your physician order is simply a Do Not Resuscitate form.  Select the Do Not Resuscitate IPOST bracelet (CR5247DNIAC) if your physician order is a IPOST with 'No CPR' checked, select the EMS IPOST bracelet (CR5247IAC) if your physician order is a IPOST with 'No CPR' left unchecked (indicating you want to be resuscitated following a cardiac event).  If you have any questions, please contact StickyJ Medical ID at 727-823-9500.

Important Legal Notice

Please be aware that the bracelet itself is not legally sufficient for EMS personnel to withhold resuscitation efforts. In the event of a cardiac emergency, you must have a copy of your physician order with you, and it must be accessible to emergency responders.
